The Possibilities Of Pecans

You don’t have to be Southern to love pecans. In fact, people from all over the US (and the world!) are in love with this nut. Pecans are great to munch on, but even more magnificent when whipped into delicious deserts. With that in mind, here are some pecan-inspired recipes that you should try:

Homemade Pecan Sandies

Place the oil, butter, granulated and powdered sugars in a large mixing bowl. Mix ingredients together until smooth. Add in the vanilla and egg and beat everything until they are properly incorporated into the mixture. After that, let the salt, flour and baking powder pass through your Chef’n Sift’n Sifter and Sieve and into the bowl.

Mix again until well-combined. Add in the pecans and stir well. Cover the dough and refrigerate it for about 25 to 30 minutes. While you are waiting for the dough, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Scoop dough, create 1-inch balls, and arrange them on the baking sheet at least 3 inches apart. Press the balls lightly until they are all 1 inch thick. Dust granulated sugar on top of the flattened dough. Bake 10 to 11 minutes. Allow to cool on wire racks before serving.

Pecan Pie Ice Cream

The first thing that you should do is prepare the ice cream base. Preheat your oven to 160 degrees. Place pecans, 1 tbsp of coconut sugar, and coconut oil on a baking sheet, then roast them for 8 minutes in the oven. Set aside and allow to cool. Pour almond milk into a saucepan and add in the remaining coconut sugar. Stir the mixture until everything is dissolved. In a separate large bowl, add in maple syrup,  coconut cream, vanilla, almond milk, bourbon, and molasses. Use the Curtis Stone Magnetic Attraction Whisk and whisk the mixture well. Chop the pecans. After that, churn your ice cream as per the directions of the manufacturer.

Toasted Pecan Turtle Clusters

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees and arrange your pecans on high-quality bakeware like the Analon non-stick cookie sheet and toast them for 5 to 8 minutes.

Set it aside and allow to cool. Place the caramel, butter, and condensed milk mixture in a bowl, to be microwaved. Let it cool a bit. Next, microwave the chocolate as well. Once the pecans have cooled down, arrange the pecans on a wax paper to form clusters. Spoon some of the caramel mixture on top of them. Now, spoon the melted chocolate on top. Top off with a dash of sea salt. Place them in the freezer for a few minutes and they are ready to go!
