Chili recipes are popular during the winter season. The hearty flavor and the warmth of this dish certainly makes the winter season a lot more enjoyable. With that in mind, here are some chili recipes that are perfect for cold weather.

Chili Con Carne

Get your favorite dutch oven and place it over medium heat. Add in oil and allow to heat for a while. Place bacon and cook for 5 to 6 minutes until it becomes crispy. Add in mince. Use a wooden spoon to break up the mince. Cook for 15 minutes. Add in the copped chili, onion, capsicum and garlic then cook the veggies for 5-6 minutes. Stir in chili powder and continue cooking for 1 minute. Pour in 1 cup of water then add tomatoes. Bring to a boil then switch to medium low heat and allow to simmer for 30 minutes. Make sure that the dutch oven is partially covered. Add in the beans and increase the heat. Cook for 15 more minutes. Serve with your choice of toppings.

Turkey Chili

This turkey chili recipe is so easy you do not have to be a kitchen wiz just to whip it up! Full list of ingredients can be found at Livin The Fit Life.

Pour oil in a large Dutch oven. Add in the garlic, onion, chopped pepper and celery. Cook everything for 5 minutes. Add in the turkey pieces into the pan and use a wooden spoon to break it apart. Cook it for 5 minutes and stir in coriander, oregano, cumin, tomato and chili powder. Pour in the tomato sauce and allow to simmer for 10 more minutes. Stir it occasionally. Add the beans and switch to low heat. Mix well and cook for 5-10 minutes. Ladle the mixture into bowls and top it off with yogurt or fat-free sour cream. Sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve!

Chicken White Bean Chili

This white chicken chili recipe features the right blend of the spicy taste of Jalapeno pepper and cubano with the creamy taste of white beans. Full list of ingredients can be found at Gourmet Recipes For One.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place chicken in a baking sheet and rub 1 teaspoon of olive oil on the skin. Season with salt and pepper and bake for 30-35 minutes. Set it aside. On a separate baking sheet, place jalapeño peppers and cubano then drizzle it with olive oil. Add in salt and pepper then bake for 15 minutes until it is already slightly charred. Set it aside. Get a food processor then add in jalapeño peppers and cubano and half of the beans. Puree until you have achieved a smooth mixture. Get a medium sized dutch oven and place it over medium heat. Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add in onion. Cook  for 5 minutes or until  it is already soft. Season with salt and pepper. Add in cumin, garlic and chili powder and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes. Add in the pureed mixture and mix well to combine. Add in 2 cups of stock then bring it to a boil. Reduce heat then allow to simmer without any cover for 10 minutes. Get the baked chicken and remove the meat from bones. Discard the bones and skin. Add in the shredded chicken together with the remaining beans to the pot and simmer for 20 more minutes. Stir in cilantro. Transfer to bowls and serve your white bean chicken chili!
